Hi I’m

Julia

Julia DePinto is a 200-hour RYT with more than a decade of personal practice. While pursuing art school in the early 2000s, Julia was introduced to the Ashtanga method and quickly took to the specialized sequencing of asanas and focused breathing techniques. After graduating with an MFA in Studio Arts, Julia’s career and focus shifted from yoga to NYC’s contemporary art scene. In 2020, a pandemic-era move from New York to Southern California left Julia desperate to find community. She began attending yoga and meditation classes at Mindful Space Yoga & Meditation Shala, where she continues to practice and study today. Julia’s spiritual path is one of devotion to yoga’s traditional practice, lineage, and ancient teachings.

Julia completed her 200-hour Integrated Yoga Teacher Training and Reiki I & II Trainings at Mindful Space Yoga & Meditation, under the guidance of Jorgelina Chaij, Teresa Kamiya, and Michael Nogoy Llanera. Additionally, Julia has studied the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga withDavid Swenson and recently completed his 40-hour Teacher Training Course.

Julia’s classes are influenced by the Ashtanga system and the movement of pranic energy throughout the body. Pranayama is coupled with chakra-opening postures and sequencing. Mindful transitions are countered with moments of pause and deep concentration. Committed to honoring the lineage and teachings of yoga— and her teachers— Julia’s classes are enriched by yogic philosophy and spirituality.

Aside from yoga, Julia enjoys painting, surfing, and hiking with her rescue dogs.
