Join Jorgelina Chaij for the all-new Essentials Yoga Poses Alignment Series to advance your practice. In this extensive series, we'll examine every asana category standing positions, forward bends, backbends, twists, inversions, and arm balances from the inside out. With Jorgelina’s excellent guidance, both teacher students will discover how to give each posture life, develop a secure practice. Common misalignments, modifications, sequencing, as well as physical and emotional advantages, are some of the primary subjects we'll examine. Additionally, every course offers original variants and prop recommendations to accommodate practitioners of every skill level. This series is for you whether you practice hatha yoga frequently or are a newcomer on the mat.
Essentials Yoga Poses Alignment Series not only expands your anatomical toolkit but also motivates you to continue learning, expanding your knowledge, and reaching your full potential.

Dates: January 11-25 ( 2 sessions per week on Saturdays)
Duration: two hours per session

Admission:
$360 paid in full or $60 per session

About Jorgelina
I’m a teacher and Owner of Mindful Space Yoga & Meditation studio in Upland CA. I am a Yoga Alliance certified E-RYT 500 with over 5.000 Hours of Teaching experience, Yoga Medicine Therapeutic Specialist. Among other styles of yoga, I like teaching various styles such as vinyasa flows, Mindful Yoga, trauma Informed, Restorative yoga, Yin Yoga, and Teacher Training and retreats and customized classes for specific needs..
My intention for this series is to provide tools to build a solid foundation for your yoga practice. You can use these skills to support your practice, move in a safe way, provide modifications, and explore more advanced approaches to the poses.

1. Foundation of Standing Poses

Date: 1/11/25 12pm-2pm
Description: Standing poses often make up the majority of poses taught in any given yoga class. We'll cover key benefits and actions, the difference between symmetrical and asymmetrical poses, common misalignments, and look at poses from the standpoint of beginners, intermediate and advanced practitioners.

2. Foundation of Forward Forward Folds 

Date: 1/11/25 2:30pm-4:30pm
Description: In seated and standing forward bends, the spine is elongated and extended, or rounded forward when we bend through the hip joints. These poses can be difficult, and in order to perform them safely and effectively, good alignment is required. We'll look at the main advantages and effects, adaptations, warnings, typical misalignments, and techniques for teaching and practicing these postures at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.

3. Foundation of Twists Date: 1/18/25 12pm-2pm

Description: Twists are positions where the lower body is steady while the spine is rotated through the middle of the back. We'll discuss the main benefits and actions of these positions, as well as how to correct common alignment issues and the best ways to get our students ready to start their own practice.

4. Foundation of Backbends

Date: 1/18/25 2:30pm-4:30pm
Description: Backbends will provide you with a practice that will be both stimulating and energizing. The physical and energetic benefits of these postures will be covered in this course, and we'll also benefit from expert knowledge of alignment, crucial movements, and contraindication

5. Foundation of Inversions 

Date: 1/25/25 12pm-2pm
Description: The head is positioned below the heart in an inversion, a type of posture. Even though there are a lot of postures that meet this requirement (including the downward-facing dog), we'll concentrate on the traditional poses like shirshasana, and variations along with practical alignment assistance, as well as the physical, energy, and emotional advantages of these postures.

6. Foundation of Arm Balances Date:

1/25/25 2:30pm-4:30pm
Description: Arm balances are postures in which we have one or both feet off the ground, and our foundations are the arms and hands. We'll explore the physical and emotional benefits,working with beginners intermediate and advanced versions of these pos. Together, we will explore crow pose, side crow, ashtavakrasana.

This experience is designed to gently guide you inward, where we will explore the wisdom of the heart.

In the fast pace of life, we often become disconnected from our inner truth, relying on the mind while neglecting the quiet intelligence of the heart. By returning to the heart space, we cultivate compassion, clarity, and authentic connection both with ourselves and others. This gathering is a chance to realign with the essence of who we are, allowing love and intuition to guide our actions and interactions.

After this, sink into a blissful sound journey, guided by Teresa. This acoustic sound healing journey starts with gentle restorative movements, partnered with an immersive sound experience of healing vibrations from multiple instruments; like Crystal Singing bowls, Gong, Chimes, Drums, Revere harp, to name some. All blended in a soothing harmonious symphony of sounds, surrounding you in a calming and relaxing space that leads you to enter in a meditative state and to feel present, grounded, and transformed. Sound baths can help you achieve deeper states of relaxation, which can lead to better sleep, reduced stress levels, anxiety, depression and improved moods. They also promote spiritual well-being, increase energy levels, and enhance creativity.
